Indian foreign minister S. Jaishankar met China’s top diplomat Wang Yi in Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta on Friday, and the unceasing stand-off at the LAC (Line of Actual Control) in Ladakh was reportedly on the agenda.
Jaishankar was in Jakarta to attend the East Asia Summit and ASEAN Regional Forum.
In a tweet, the Indian minister said that the discussion was around “outstanding issues related to peace & tranquility in border areas”.

“Our conversation also covered EAS/ARF agenda, BRICS and the Indo-Pacific,” posted Jaishankar.
However, no separate readouts were provided by both of the countries.
Relations between India and China strained due to lingering tensions at LAC in Ladakh.
Both nuclear countries had a deadly stand-off in eastern Ladakh in May 2020.
Despite some de-escalation efforts in certain friction points, two critical areas still await resolution.
