Srinagar: Kashmir’s senior photojournalist, Nissar Ahmad, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at SMHS (Shri Maharaja Hari Singh) Hospital in Srinagar after a prolonged battle with a life-threatening illness.
Ahmad had undergone a major operation two years ago but continued to work for The Hindu from Kashmir until his health deteriorated in recent months.
The Kashmir Press Photographers Association (KPPA) has expressed grief over his death, stating that his passing has left a vacuum in the photojournalistic circles of Kashmir.
