Srinagar: A man allegedly killed his mother-in-law in the Botakadal area of Srinagar city on Sunday, Police said.
As per police, Police post-Lal Bazar received information that a woman identified as Saleema, wife of Late Muhammad Qasim, resident of Gulshan Bagh, Botakadal was attacked by her son-in-law and she died on the spot.
However, the Police haven’t mentioned how he attacked her mother-in-law.
“The accused has been identified as Shabir Ahmed Bhat, S/o Abdul Salaam Bhat, a resident of the Pattan area of Baramulla. Bhat had married Saleema’s daughter and was living at his in-laws house for some time,” police said.
A case under FIR number 45/2023 under section 302 IPC has been registered in police station Lal Bazar.
“The accused was evading arrest and now has been arrested,” the official said, adding that further investigation is on.
