Srinagar: Pakistan has refused to provide airspace for the direct international flight from Srinagar to UAE (United Arab Emirates) -forcing the ‘Go First’ airliner to use longer route although the Pakistan airspace was used for the first few flights.
“Effective yesterday (Tuesday), Go First has to change the flight path since Pakistan refused right to airspace,” FPK reported.
A week ago, Union Home Minister of India Amit Shah visited Kashmir and re -started direct International Flights from Srinagar.
As per reports, the airline had to change the path of a Srinagar-bound flight after Pakistan closed its airspace.
“Pakistan has refused its airspace use to Go First’s Srinagar-Sharjah flight. It has raised concerns over the use of their airspace. Matter reported to the concerned ministries; MoCA, MEA & MHA looking into it,” he added.
The direct international link between the Valley and Dubai was revived after 11 years.
The first international flight from the Srinagar airport to Dubai was started on February 14, 2009 by Air India Express, but the a week later, it’s service was discontinued due to low demand.
