One Held With Three Kilograms of Poppy Straw In Srinagar’s Parimpora

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Srinagar on Thursday arrested Budgam man at a checkpoint in Srinagar’s parimpora area after recovering three kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.

In a statement, Police said a party of Parimpora PS established a checkpoint (naka) at Toyota Crossing in ParimPora and intercepted a three-wheeler (load carrier) bearing registration number JK01E-3108.

“Upon checking, the driver –identified as Abdul Hameed Ganie, son of Mohd Ramzan and a resident of Paymas, Soibugh of Budgam- was found carrying Poppy Straw (Fuki) of 03 .800 kilograms

A case under FIR number 31/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Parimpora and an investigation is underway.
