Srinagar: SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal has condemned the batamallo incident and said there will be compromises on crimes against women
โThe Batamaloo incident came as a shock and I canโt believe there are people who can do this,โ he said.
Reportedly, three robbers in an attempt to loot cash barged into a house at Mominabad Batamaloo.area of Srinagar during Friday Prayers and tied two girls with a rope, Moreover, they attacked minor girls with knives.
However, Police immediately arrested one accused while another managed to escape from the spot.
Reacting to the incident, SSP Srinagar said that a formal case under strong sections of law including trespassing, assault and outraging the modesty of females has been registered.
โWe are investigating the matter and if he has done all this along with his associates, they too will be arrested. I canโt believe that such incidents can take place in my city,โ he said.
He hailed the role of people in helping police to nab the culprit saying that cooperation of people is very important to eradicate crime from the society.
โWe are working to end crime against women. We are also working to put brakes on narcotics. We believe that there should be no compromise on crime against women,โ SSP Srinagar said.
He said police want that those youth involved in the earlier attack (acid attack) should get stringent punishment so that it becomes a deterrent for others.
