India: A military helicopter with Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Bipin Rawat, his wife and other officers on board crashed near Coonoor in the Nilgiri hills of Tamil Nadu (south India) on Wednesday.
There were at least four people on board besides the crew of the helicopter.
A search and rescue operation was launched immediately after the chopper went missing.
Media reports said rescued people had been taken to the Army facility in Wellington in the Nilgiris where the Services Staff College is located.
