As a powerful earthquake struck Morocco on Friday night, the death toll has now crossed 1,000 people, with more than 329 people sustaining injuries.
The earthquake, which struck with immense force, caused extensive damage throughout the region.
Disturbing videos posted by Moroccans on social media depict buildings reduced to rubble and dust, along with sections of the iconic red walls surrounding the historic city of Marrakech, a UNESCO World Heritage site, suffering damage.
