A mosque in Gurgaon, India, was set on fire, and the deputy imam (priest) was killed allegedly by Hindutva mob of 70-80 people in the early hours of Tuesday, according to police. DCP (East) Nitish Aggarwal stated,
"We have identified some of the accused, and action will be taken soon."
The mob also opened fire during the incident, leaving the naib imam and another man badly injured, as per police.
Police commissioner Kala Ramachandran confirmed that one person was killed and another injured in the attack on Anjuman mosque in sector 57.
The “violence” occurred after clashes in Nuh during a procession by the VHP and Bajrang Dal, resulting in three deaths, including two home guards.
Curfew has been imposed in the district, and security has been increased in Nuh and other areas.
