Ramban: A man was killed while several others were injured after a massive landslide hit the Srinagar-Jammu national highway near the Seri area of Pir Panjal’s Ramban district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Surjeet Singh, son of Sher Singh and a resident of Sumber.
A massive landslide occurred near the Seri area today afternoon, burying two vehicles under the debris, an official said.
He said in the incident one person died while six others were injured and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The official said more people might be trapped under debris even as the rescue operation was underway.
Meanwhile, the highway has been closed to traffic as a precautionary measure.
