Srinagar, Oct 22 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has withdrawn the requirement of securing at least 20 per cent marks in a subject to apply for re-evaluation, allowing candidates to seek a review of their answer scripts irrespective of their scores.
The decision applies to students of Classes 10, 11 and 12, the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) and the Jammu and Kashmir State Open School (JK SOS) examinations for Classes 10 and 12.
In a notification, JKBOSE Director Academics Dr Parveen Singh said the earlier condition restricting re-evaluation to candidates who had secured 20 per cent or more marks in the concerned subject had been withdrawn.
“In partial modification, it is notified for information of all the stakeholders that the condition ‘re-evaluation shall be permissible only in such papers in which the candidate has secured 20% or more marks assigned to the concerned subject’ is withdrawn,” the notification reads.
The board said candidates seeking re-evaluation could now apply regardless of the marks obtained in the concerned subject, provided they follow the prescribed procedure and meet the applicable deadlines and fee requirements.
“As such, the candidates, desirous to re-evaluate their answer scripts in the 10th, 11th, 12th, Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) and Jammu & Kashmir State Open School (JK SOS, 10 and 12) henceforth can apply irrespective of the marks secured in the concerned subjects within the prescribed procedure, timeline and fee,” the notification states.
JKBOSE clarified that all other terms and conditions governing the re-evaluation process, as notified from time to time, would remain unchanged.
The notification further stated that the decision would have prospective effect.
