Jammu: The Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries has called for a shutdown on March 11 against the imposition of property tax in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference president JCCI Arun Gupta, said that after a series of meetings with members of civil society and other organizations, they have decided to observe a complete shutdown on Saturday.
He said that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will oppose any move that will a burden on the people.
Notably, the LG administration under Manoj Sinha imposed property tax in J&K for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, asking citizens to pay tax if their houses are built up 1000 square feet of land which is 2 and a half marlas.
