In India, photos of Muslim Women were uploaded in an app ‘Bulli Bai’ on the open software development site GitHub for auction.

The app appeared to be similar to another one called "Sulli Deals" which sparked outrage about six months ago by offering users "Sulli"-a derogatory name used by right-wing social media trolls for Muslim women.

In July, an app and website called "Sulli Deals" created profiles of more than 80 Muslim women – using photos they uploaded online – and described them as "deals of the day".

In both cases, there was no real sale of any kind – the purpose is to degrade and humiliate Muslim women by sharing their images.

Sulli is a derogatory Hindi slang term right-wing Hindu trolls use for Muslim women, and "bull" is also pejorative.

Police in Mumbai and Delhi as registered cases after an app shared photos of more than 100 Muslim women saying they were on "sale".

The accused include developers of the app and Twitter handles that shared the images and content.
