Srinagar: A security meeting was conducted by IGP Kashmir VK Birdi-IPS at PCR (Police Control Room) on Monday, directing officers to intensify anti-militancy operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the meeting, the IGP Kashmir urged the officers to intensify anti-militancy operations and take strict action against people or organizations supporting anti-India activities to ensure the smooth functioning of the upcoming Republic Day.

The meeting also focused on intelligence gathering, threat assessments, and emergency response protocols in view of VIP visits, reads the statement issued to The Himalayan Post.ย

The participating officers briefed IGP Kashmir about the overall security scenario and the security measures being adopted to counter the challenges.

The IGP Kashmir stressed strengthening collaboration between different law enforcement agencies for seamless information sharing and joint operations, besides exploring innovative technologies to amplify existing security infrastructure.

He also directed them to enhance joint patrolling, especially during the night hours, to prevent any militant movement.

The meeting was attended by DD IB Nitin Tiwari-IPS, DIG CKR Srinagar Sujit Kumar-IPS, DIG SSB Srinagar Imtiyaz Ismail Parray, DIG IR Kashmir Abdul Qayoom, SSP Srinagar Ashish Mishra-IPS, SSP PCR Shoket Hussain Shah, SSP Traffic City Srinagar Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, SSP Security Kashmir Sheikh Faisal, and SP PC Srinagar Shri Iftikhar Talib, DIG NKR Shri Vivek Gupta-IPS & DIG SKR Shri Rayees Mohammad Bhat-IPS along with district SSPs/PDs, officers from military, BSF, CRPF, CISF, and SB.ย
