A principal of a private school in Guajarat’s Kutch-Mundra town was suspended after a controversy erupted over a skit performed by students of mixed faiths on the eve of Eid-al-Adha and the school has apologized for producing a play, showing communal harmony.
As per reports, Parents and right-wing organizations registered a strong protest after a video of students, some sporting Muslim skull caps and giving message of brotherhood, went viral on social media.
District development officer (DDO) S K Prajapati on Friday suspended principal Priti Vasvani of Pearl School of Excellence after a preliminary investigation done by a special team formed by the district education officer.
"We will consider further action after getting the detailed investigation report," Prajapati told TOI.
The school had posted the video of the play on its Facebook page, however, it was later removed by the administration.
