Srinagar Police have arrested a youth from Banihal, identified as Muthair Dar, for allegedly insulting shrines in the Kashmir valley.
The arrest was made after a video of him making derogatory remarks about some spiritual places in Kashmir went viral on social media.
The complaint was lodged at the Shergari police station, leading to his arrest in the Banihal area, situated along the Pir Panchal highway.
News agency KDC reported that a youth identified as Muthair Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, and a resident of Mahoo Banihal was arrested by Srinagar police after his video went viral on social media against some spiritual places in Kashmir.
A police officer confirmed and said Muthair Dar has been booked under FIR no 45 under section 153-A and 295 of Indian Penal code at PS Shergari and further investigation is on.
