As the controversial movie ‘Kashmir Files’ based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990s hit screens in India, tears, genocide calls against Kashmiris and Muslims were made by audiences across Indian cinemas.
In various video clips, the audience was seen shouting slogans against the Muslims of Kashmir.
Reportedly, the Audience have also chanted slogans ‘shoot the traitors’ against Kashmiri Muslims.
“This is not a movie or entertainment, it’s a message, we need to fight them,” one of the man in audience was heard saying.
In another video, the audience vows to boycott movies of Salman Khan, Amir Khan and Shahrukh Khan, the three Muslim superstars of the Indian cinema, and take revenge from those responsible for the migration.
Social media was abuzz with hypercharge reactions about the film as many as blamed the director for the wrong depiction of characters and events.
However, several BJP ruled states have exempted the film from entertainment tax, with some Chief Ministers even explicitly backing the recently released Bollywood movie and police in Madhya Pradesh state offered a day of leave to watch it.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that such films "reveal the truth" and claimed that there has been a "conspiracy" to discredit it.
Speaking at the BJP parliamentary party meeting in Delhi, PM Modi took a swipe at the critics of the films and said that they are furious because the recently-released movie is foregrounding the truth that was deliberately kept hidden.
"My concern is not just the film. I believe that it is beneficial for the nation to bring out the truth in the right way. It can have many aspects. Some see one thing, others see something else," he said.
Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani also urged people to watch the film, "so that this history soaked in the blood of innocents may never repeat itself".
Earlier, Actor Anupum Kher had said he could make this film (Kashmir Files in Bollywood only because BJP was in power.
