Srinagar: Two persons including a driver and a helper of Jal Shakti department were killed after a water tanker fell into a gorge in Rain Chowgund village in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Friday.
The deceased duo was identified as Gowhar Hussain Lone (driver) and Wazir Ahmad Khan (helper). However, their age wasn’t immediately known.
An official said that a water tanker of Jal Shakti department skidded off the road near Rain Chowgund area of Verinag and fell into a gorge.
In the incident, the driver and helper of the vehicle died on the spot, he said.
Meanwhile, police said it has taken cognisance of the incident.
