Rajouri: A man from Pir Panchal’s Rajouri has been booked by J&K police for using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) application on Sunday, May 6th.
He has been identified as Mazhar Iqbal (30), a resident of Dhanore Jaralan village.
According to reports, he was booked for violating the district magistrate’s order, which suspended VPN services in the district as a preventive measure to protect all information related to ensuring Lok Sabha elections and other sensitive data from cyber-attacks.
Reports said that he was intercepted by police with his mobile device having a VPN application.
He is the second person in the district to be booked for using a VPN; earlier, another person was booked in the Kandi area.
