Budgam, Feb 16 — A 10-year-old girl was killed and her mother sustained critical injuries after they were hit by a motorcycle in the Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam on Monday, officials said.
Officials said the woman and her daughter were struck by a motorcycle in Chadoora and were immediately taken to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Chadoora for treatment.
“The minor succumbed to her injuries at the hospital,” an official said, adding that her mother was referred to Srinagar for advanced medical care, where her condition was stated to be critical.
The injured woman was identified as Shakeela Bano, wife of Mushtaq Ahmad Kumar. The identity of the minor has been withheld.
Police said an investigation into the incident has been taken up.
