Israel’s Shin Bet has arrested students from Birzeit University in the West Bank, alleging they were planning an operation directed by Hamas members in Turkey.
According to Israeli media, Shin Bet said that it had disrupted an operation, seizing weapons and tens of thousands of dollars.
“The operation, carried out jointly with the Israeli military and police, led to the arrest of students affiliated with Hamas's student group at Birzeit University, Al Kutla Islamiya.”
Shin Bet said that the students were preparing for a major operation and arranging funds transfers to Hamas operatives, allegedly under the guidance of senior Hamas officials in Turkey.
