Srinagar, January 23: Both the minimum and maximum temperatures across Kashmir Valley remained above normal on Thursday, with no significant wet spell expected until January 31, according to the local weatherman.
In Srinagar, the maximum temperature reached 13.3°C, which is 6.2°C above normal, while the minimum temperature was 0.3°C above the usual figure.
North Kashmir's Gulmarg recorded a day temperature of 3.0°C, surpassing the normal of 0.1°C.
The night temperature there settled at -7.5°C, slightly higher than the usual -8.4°C.
In South Kashmir, Qazigund, the gateway to the valley, saw a maximum temperature of 13.4°C, with a minimum of -2.6°C.
Pahalgam recorded 9.6°C during the day, above the normal 4.8°C, and the night temperature stood at 5.6°C.
Kupwara had a day temperature of 13.7°C, while its night temperature dropped to -2.2°C. Kokernag recorded a day temperature of 9.8°C, with a minimum of -1.6°C.
The Director of the Meteorological Department (MeT) forecasted mostly dry and cloudy weather in the region until January 31, but mentioned a chance of light rain and snow at isolated locations between January 29 and 30.
