As Thursday marked the first day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan in the Palestinian territories, Israeli border police killed a Palestinian man during a raid in the occupied West Bank.
As per reports, he was identified as 25-year-old Amir Abu Khadijeh who was shot in the head at Tulkarem city.
While Israeli border police claimed that Amir aimed a weapon at them which was retaliated by immense firing, the Tulkarem Brigade one of several new armed groups to emerge in the West Bank over the past year said, Abu Khadijeh as one of its founders and described the killing as an assassination.
Following the killing, large crowds took to the streets to protest against Abu Khadijeh’s killing.
The Israeli forces also arrested the owner of the flat where Abu Khadijeh was killed, according to Palestinian media.
