Srinagar/Tral, 24 October, 2024: A Non-local laborer from Uttar Pradesh was shot and injured by militants on Thursday morning in the Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, according to officials.
The victim, Shubam Kumar, a resident of Bijnore, was struck in the arm when militants opened fire in Batagund village, according to authorities.
Kumar was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment and condition remains stable, officials confirmed.
This marks the third attack on non-local laborers in Kashmir within the past week.
Just days earlier, on Sunday, six non-local laborers and a local doctor were killed in a targeted attack at a construction site in central Kashmir’s Sonamarg.
Moreover, on October 18, another non-local laborer from Bihar was shot dead in Shopian district.
