New Delhi, Oct 13: India on Monday rejected China’s objection to New Delhi assigning names to 28 locations in Ladakh, asserting that the “Union Territory is an integral part of the country and that no objection from Beijing could alter this reality.”
Responding to China’s opposition to the move, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the names had been standardised to facilitate accurate identification of the locations and improve public awareness.
“No amount of denial by China could change this established fact,” the MEA said, reiterating India’s position on Ladakh’s territorial status.
The ministry maintained that the exercise was intended to ensure accurate recognition of geographical locations and better public understanding, dismissing China’s objection to the naming initiative.
