Budgam, Sept 18: A 21-year-old youth was found dead at his residence in the Qadi Pora area of Budgam during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Shafat Hussain, 21, a resident of Qadi Pora, an official said.
“The youth was found unconscious at his residence, following which police were informed,” the official said.
He said police reached the spot and took the body into custody. The circumstances surrounding the death are being ascertained as part of the investigation.
Police have initiated an inquiry into the incident, while the body will be handed over to the family after completion of the necessary legal formalities for the last rites.
