PULWAMA, November 5: Unidentified thieves allegedly stole a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM containing around Rs 11 lakh in cash from the Lasipora Industrial Area of south Kashmirโ€™s Pulwama district during the intervening night, prompting police to launch an investigation.

Police have registered an FIR at Litter Police Station and deployed teams to identify those involved and recover the stolen ATM along with the cash.

A police team led by Pulwama SSP Sahil Sarangal is investigating the incident, with necessary measures initiated to trace the suspects, officials said.

Lasipora is one of Kashmir Valleyโ€™s major industrial hubs, housing several industrial units.

A similar incident was reported in the area in 2023, when police recovered a stolen ATM following an investigation and identified a three-member gang comprising Bangladeshi nationals as being involved in the theft.
