Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said that the administration will adopt the "Kashmir model" to counter efforts to revive militancy in the Jammu region.
Addressing the launch of Hausla 2.0 and the Start-ups portal at SKICC on the banks of the famous Dal Lake, he said: “The people of Jammu have never supported terrorism and have always stood against it. J&K has undergone a significant transformation in the past four to five years. In Kashmir’s ten districts, peace prevails, and young boys and girls are shaping their futures through innovations and other sectors, including agriculture.”
“Our neighbor cannot tolerate the peace prevailing in J&K. Efforts are being made to revive terrorism in the Jammu region. We will not allow its revival at any cost and will adopt the Kashmir model. The way security forces crushed terrorism in Kashmir, a similar strategy will be adopted in Jammu as well,” the LG said, adding that today all outfits in Kashmir are headless.
He noted that there is a peaceful atmosphere in the Valley, which would have been unimaginable just five years ago.
“In the past four to five years, J&K has seen transparency in the government recruitment process. Not a single person was appointed based on any sort of influence. For the first time, children of cart pullers, vegetable vendors, and street vendors have received government jobs,” he added.
