Sopore: One of the two militants killed in the Sopore military operation has been identified as Saifullah, a Pakistani national, while the identity of the second individual is still being ascertained, according to the police.
As per sources, the slain hails from the Mirpur area of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.
However, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) confirmed that one of them is a Pakistani national, while the identity of the other is still being determined.
“As per the documents recovered from the slain, one has been identified as Saifullah,” he said.
He said the successful operation reflects the alertness of forces ahead of the Lok Sabha polls in Kashmir.
"We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for the Lok Sabha polls, and arms, ammunition, and other incriminating material were also recovered from them," he added.
