Srinagar: Former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President and All India Congress Committee (AICC) observer, Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Friday slammed Modi Govt over the disqualification of congress-Nehru scion Rahul Gandhi from the Indian Parliament saying that the Govt is blatantly misusing power and alleged that India has never witnessed such vendetta politics and dictatorial rule.

In a statement, he termed the disqualification of Gandhi an ‘unethical’ move and said that Mr. Rahul Gandhi was targeted for speaking the ‘truth.’

“Prime Minister Modi is not able to face the truth as he couldn’t bear the truth of his deep nexus with some Corporates,” he said.

He was referring to the question Mr. Rahul asked against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Adani issue in the parliament.

“We as law-abiding citizens respect the courts, but at the same time, the Congress Party won’t allow the Modi Govt to undermine the Institutions in the country and use these for power,” Mir said.

“Such misadventures and intimidation of opposition won’t deter Congress Party from raising the corruption and favoritism of the Modi Govt,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi has paid the price for fighting the dictatorial Government, he added.

“This dramatic disqualification has further exposed the Modi government,” he added further.

Meanwhile, Congress Secretary In-charge Communications, Jairam Ramesh said that Congress is planning protests at block, district, and state levels from Monday over Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification.

Notably, Former Congress Chief, Mr. Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from Lok Sabha (lower house of the Indian Parliament) as a member of the parliament after the Gujarat Court convicted him in a defamation case and awarded him a two-year jail term over his “why all thieves have Modi surname” comment.
