Srinagar: J&K Students Association on Tuesday urged J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to withdraw UAPA Charges on humanitarian grounds against Kashmiri Students who celebrated Pakistan victory and raised slogans.
In a statement reported by Kashmir Dot Com, National spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said UAPA charges against students is a harsh punishment and will ruin their futures and the move further alienates them. We are not justifying their act, but the charges will assassinate their careers as this will have serious consequences on the academic and future careers of the students.
He said, “It may have serious repercussions, both in the long term and short term. The charges will have serious psycho-somatic consequences on the students. Government should give Chance to the Students while restoring their faith in the ethical standing within the fair constitution of India, so that their futures are preserved.”
