The United States, on Wednesday, imposed sanctions on a network of Hong Kong, Emirati and other companies, accused of helping to deliver and sell Iranian petroleum and petrochemical products to East Asia.
The new sanctions will pressure Iran as USA seeks to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, Reuters reports.
Last week, the indirect talks between US and Iran also failed following accusations on each other.

“The network of people and entities used a web of Gulf-based front companies to facilitate the delivery and sale of hundreds of millions of dollars in products from Iranian companies to East Asia,” the US Treasury Department said in a statement.
“we will continue to use all our authorities to enforce sanctions on the sale of Iranian petroleum and petrochemicals," the statement reads.
Sanctions against Iran began in 1970 during the Islamic revolution in Iran, since then the United States and other countries have imposed unprecedented sanctions against Iran’s Nuclear activities.
