Srinagar: An unidentified body of a man was found in the Jhelum river near the cement bridge area of Srinagar’s Noorbagh on Tuesday morning, with officials initiating a probe.
An official said that the body was spotted by locals, who immediately informed the police.
“The body has been retrieved and will be shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities,” he said.
Police have taken up the investigation and identification of the body is yet to be ascertained, he added.
