Anantnag: A 15-year-old teen drowned to death in a canal in the Srigufwara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district this afternoon, officials said.
The deceased was identified Ajmal Hussain Khan, son of Master Ghulam Mohuidin Bakkerwal, and resident of Kathsoo area of Srigufwara.
As per reports, he drowned while bathing in the Dadi canal.
Kashmir Valley has been reporting a surge in drowning incidents this year. Recently, two siblings drowned to death in north Kashmir’s Sumbal and an elderly woman was fished out from the Madumatti River in Bandipora.
