“Shutdown call on Aug 05, 15 by Geelani fake”: Police

 Srinagar:

Police on Wednesday said separatist leader Geelani’s call for shutdown on August 5 and 15 fake and warned actions against those circulating the fake tweet.

Police in a tweet "As per family sources of SAS Geelani, the tweet is fake and issued by someone from Pakistan. Police is taking action against those who are circulating it to instigate violence. Case FIR under relevant sections of ULA (P) stands registered in Police station Budgam."

This ‘fake tweet’ as per police comes few days ahead of the second anniversary of the August 5 when the Government of India unilaterally stripped off the semi-autonomous status of Jammu and Kashmir  and bifurcated the erstwhile state into union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
