Jammu: Several people are feared dead after a private vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into River Chenab near Karara Premnagar, Doda on Tuesday evening, officials said.
As per reports, a massive rescue operation was launched by Police, Army and local volunteers.
SHO Thathri Amrit Kotach confirmed the plunging of vehicle into the river. However he said the number of occupants in the vehicle was being investigated.
“Whether there were four or five persons or lesser number of travellers in the vehicle is being ascertained,” he said, adding, “a massive rescue operation has been launched to trace them.”
