Srinagar: Students of Kashmir University held a peaceful protest against the indefinite closure of the Reading Room library, Closed since August 2019.
The protesting students assembled in front of Allama Iqbal Library and marched towards the Administrative block.
Gazi Muzamil, a student in the Department of law said in the name of renovation, Kashmir University’s 24×7 Reading Room stands closed since August 05, 2019. Even after receiving an A+ grade from UGC, facilities for students are not upgrading.
"Our semester exams are going on and the reading room is a space where students can study. We are protesting so that the administration opens it up for students and we can study inside the premises," he said.
