Srinagar: The Families of two civilians Altaf Bhat and Mudasir Gul who were protesting in the Press Colony of Kashmir Capital Srinagar have been detained by J&K Police at 11:35 Pm on Wednesday night.
Holding a candle light Protest, detained Families were seen wailing and pleading for the dead bodies.
Around 11:15 PM, Police stopped the traffic movement towards the press colony and snapped electricity in the area.
As the candle light protest went on long in the freezing cold night, J&K Police arrived and detained all of them including Human Rights Activist Angad Singh who was also protesting along families.
Dozens of Police personnel snuffed out the protest and began dragging detainees which was resisted by some family members leading to a small scuffle.
On the evening of 15 November 2021, four people including three civilians were killed in Hyderpora area of Srinagar.
Police said one foreign militant named as Haider was killed and identified Altaf Ahmad as OGW.
When Altaf’s family tweeted that he is a civilian, Police said he was killed in crossfire.
Later, Dental Surgeon Dr Mudasir who also works in Real Estate and Amir, a Labourer from Banihal were announced as the OGWs.
Families of the Trio have denied militancy links and continue to protest for their dead bodies.
"Being Muslims we want to give them a proper burial, Fateh (Salutations) are important," families said.
