Srinagar: A delegation of Pahari representatives convened with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Srinagar on Thursday evening.
Reports indicate that the delegation conveyed appreciation to both the Home Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their attention to the longstanding concerns of their community. They were referring to the inclusion of Paharis in the ST status.
Sources reveal that Shah is scheduled to engage with multiple other delegations later on Thursday night.
These sources also suggested a “security assessment meeting concerning the Amarnath Pilgrimage.”
Security vigilance was intensified across the city in anticipation of his visit.
