Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir’s LG administration has banned use and sale of crackers in five kilometres radius along the “International Border” of Jammu.
As per officials, the decision to ban crackers in the vicinity of the “International Border” has been made in order to prevent any unwanted situation caused by the loud sounds of fireworks, which could potentially lead to uncertainty for the security forces and government agencies stationed in the area.
Reports indicate that police teams have been actively spreading the word about this new order, urging the public to adhere to it or strict action will be taken against any violators of the ban.
The ban comes in the wake of a recent incident where a civilian and a few Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured in firing and shelling in the region.
