Srinagar: Karnah’s (North Kashmir’s Kupwara) independent candidate Kaneez Fatima joined Sajad Lone’s People Conference party on Tuesday.
Fatima, who had secured 2783 votes as an independent candidate in the district development council polls held in 2020, joined the party in presence of its chairman Sajad Gani Lone and top leaders including vice chairman district development council Kupwara Haji Farooq and advocate Salim Mir.
With the joining, the Karnah Assembly segment is set to witness a direct contest between the Peoples’ Conference and National Conference in Assembly polls.
