J&K Govt Planning Helicopter Service to Snowbound Areas

Srinagar, Jan 23: The Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to launch helicopter services to remote snowbound areas, including Gurez, Karnah, and Tangdhar to ensure connectivity during harsh winters.

A private aviation firm, Jet Serve Aviation, conducted a trial run in Gurez Valleyโ€™s Bagtore area, an official said.

The planned service will connect villages such as Bagtore, Baduaab, Dawar, and Badugaam, with similar trials expected in other remote regions like Karnah and Tangdhar, he said.ย

"The helicopter service is being assessed for its feasibility to offer emergency aerial connectivity for patients, government officials, and students," the official said, adding that it will serve as a lifeline during extreme weather.
