J&K Free From Lumpy Skin Disease: Govt

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir administration led by LG Manoj Sinha has declared Jammu and Kashmir free from Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in bovine animals after being โ€˜satisfiedโ€™ that no case was reported from any district across the Himalayan region on Monday.

According to a notice, the declaration has been made in the exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (5) of section 6 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals (PCICDA) Act, 2009, and in supersession of notification S.0 424 dated 05.09.2022.

โ€œThe move comes after the Government was satisfied that no cases of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) have been reported from any district of Jammu and Kashmir,โ€ it reads.
