New Delhi, Sept 1: Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices for domestic airlines were raised by 5.46 per cent, or Rs 6.28 per litre, to Rs 121.28 per litre on Tuesday, marking the second consecutive monthly increase, according to state-owned oil companies.
The latest hike follows an increase of Rs 5 per litre on August 1, adding further pressure on airlines at a time when jet fuel accounts for up to 40 per cent of their operating costs.
Alongside ATF, the price of commercial LPG was increased by Rs 9.50 per 19-kg cylinder, from Rs 2,738 to Rs 2,747.50. The price of the market-priced 5-kg cooking gas cylinder was also raised by Rs 2 to Rs 764.

The latest increases follow two consecutive monthly reductions in commercial LPG prices. Rates were cut by Rs 192 per cylinder on August 1 and by Rs 183.50 on July 1, after international energy prices had surged amid the West Asia conflict.
Commercial LPG prices had risen sharply during the crisis, increasing by Rs 1,373 per 19-kg cylinder between February and June—from Rs 1,740.50 to Rs 3,113.50.
Meanwhile, prices of domestic LPG, petrol and diesel remained unchanged.
A 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder continues to cost Rs 942. Domestic cooking gas prices were last raised by Rs 29 per cylinder on June 7, following a Rs 60 increase in March amid supply disruptions and higher international energy prices.
Petrol and diesel prices, which were increased by around Rs 7.50 per litre each in May, also remained unchanged.
ATF and LPG prices are revised on the first day of every month based on international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates. The prices paid by consumers vary across states depending on local taxes, including VAT.
