India resumed electronic visa services for Canadian nationals on November 22, marking the end of a nearly two-month hiatus.
The diplomatic relations between India and Canada had soured following Canada’s accusation that India was involved in the killing of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Nijjar was fatally shot dead on June 18 outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia.
This incident occurred three years after India had designated Nijjar as a "terrorist." In response to the allegations, both countries suspended diplomatic ties.
India has consistently refuted these accusations, dismissing them as "absurd" and "motivated."
