Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, P K Pole on Saturday said that โ€œHar Ghar Tirangaโ€ is a choice and there is no compulsion and insistence on it.

Talking to reporters, he said that this movement is totally on a voluntary basis and there wonโ€™t be any kind of compulsion in it.

โ€œAll those citizens who want to unfurl the Tiranga in their homes or on their shops by following the flag code between August 14 and August 15 will be welcomed and the tricolor will be given to them at a reasonable cost,โ€ he said.

He added that there will be no compulsion in it, as this movement is totally voluntary.

โ€œBut only one thing will have to be kept in mind is that proper flag code will be followed by those who want to unfurl the Tricolour in their homes or at their shops. They will be sensitized about the same,โ€ he said.

The government has launched Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to instill patriotic emotions among citizenry this Independence Day under which people will be exhorted to hoist the national flag over their houses on August 15.ย
