Kupwara: The Govt has suspended two teachers in the Kralpora area of the North Kashmir’s Kupwara district for allegedly giving corporal punishment to students at a government school.
According to an order, a complaint was filed against two teachers namely Shaukat Ahmad Lone and Naseer Ahmad Lone, posted at UPS Gampora Budanamal Zone, Kralpora in Kupwara district.
"Ghulam Mohammad Lone, son of Abdul Khaliq, resident of Bundnamal along with his wife and three school going children approached deputy commissioner’s office with a written complaint regarding corporal punishment by the above mentioned two teachers," the orders reads.
"The preliminary enquiry was conducted into the matter and prima-facie it appears that the matter is a case of corporal punishment and needs to be enquired into thoroughly," it said.
It added that pending enquiry into the matter both teachers are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect.
As per the order a 4-member committee has been constituted to conduct a thorough enquiry into the matter.
“The committee will come up with a factual report along with specific comments within 10 days for further course of action."
The committee comprises of District Social Welfare Officer Kupwara, Tehsildar Kralpora, Zonal Education Officer Kralpora and SHO (station housing officer) Kralpora.
