Srinagar: The order banning heating appliances in Central Kashmir was withdrawn late Saturday after criticism; in a separate order, the administration said the order needs correction, and the appliances like nichrome coil-based crude water heaters and crude cooking heaters are banned.
The district magistrate Ganderbal on late Saturday amended the order in which he had imposed a blanket ban on heating appliances for winter.
As per the amended order, the govt said the order needs correction. Therefore, to achieve the said objective I, District Magistrate, Ganderbal, in the exercise of powers vested in me by section 144 Cr.PC, amend the operative part of the said order and issue directions as- for the efficient use of energy, its conservation, and the safety of life and property, do hereby prohibit the sale, purchase, and use of banned nichrome coil-based crude water heaters and crude cooking heaters, which do not conform to the relevant specifications of the Bureau of Indian Standard.
It added that any violation of this order shall attract punitive action as warranted under relevant law.
