New Delhi, April 30 — Amid allegations of a recent security breach during the Pahalgam attack, the Government of India has restructured the National Security Advisor Board (NSAB), appointing former R&AW chief Alok Joshi as its new chairman.
The revamped board features a high-level mix of former defence and intelligence officials, including ex-Western Air Commander Air Marshal P.M. Sinha, former Southern Army Commander Lt Gen A.K. Singh, Rear Admiral Monty Khanna, and retired diplomats and police officials—B. Venkatesh Varma, Rajiv Ranjan Verma, and Manmohan Singh.
The announcement also coincides with a series of high-level security reviews underway at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence, intensifying speculation over the circumstances surrounding the alleged lapse.
