Srinagar: Scores of candidates who qualified exam for the post of Finance Account Assistant (FAA) have been protesting for the third consecutive day at Srinagar’s Press enclave against JKSSB (Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board) amidst speculations that the FAA selection list may be scrapped as some candidates have allegedly used ‘unfair means’ in the exam.
Protestors blamed the authorities for shielding the culprits involved in the ‘scam’.
“For the last three years, we were preparing for it and appeared in the examination, the results of which were declared on April 22nd. The final selection got delayed following which we approached the concerned authorities where we came to know that some “scam” had taken place and the recruitment will be “scrapped,” said Nelofar, one of the protesting aspirants.
Something fishy is happening inside, she said.
“Our hard work compelled us to hit the streets and we don’t deserve it,” she added.
“If a scam has happened, the government should identify those who are involved in it, but not at the cost of the career of aspirants,” she said during the protest.
“I have worked hard for the examination, but unfortunately the promises over transparency by the government have fallen flat,” she added.
Another protester, Rameez Ahmad alleged that the whole process seemed to be pre-planned like a cruel joke with the aspirants.
“We have sacrificed everything for this job and kept working hard to qualify for the exam but our career will be ruined if the government scraps the recruitment process,” he said.
However, he added that the aspirants are ready to cooperate with the government, but only those who are involved in the scam should be kept at bay and those who deserve should not be pushed to the wall.
Pertinently, for the third straight day, the aspirants of Finance Accounts Assistant (FAA) continue to protest against the alleged scrapping amid speculations that the results will be scrapped.
It is pertinent to mention, the JKSSB had advertised posts for the Finance Account Assistant (FAA), Junior Assistant, Sub Auditor and other positions in December 2020.
The exam for which was held in the month of March 2022. JKSSB published the merit list on 22nd April 2022.
